The material of the air compressor oil filter is filter paper. The service life of the air compressor with the filter is usually 1500-2000 hours. According to the different adjustment of the environmental condition, the oil filter jam alarm set value is generally 1.0-1.4bar.
What is the function of the air compressor oil filter?
Filter the metal particles and impurities in the lubricating oil of the air compressor to ensure the cleanliness of the oil circulation system and protect the safe operation of the main engine.
The oil and gas separation element is a key component that determines the quality of the compressed air of an air compressor. The high-quality oil and gas separation element can not only ensure the high efficiency of the compressor, but also the life of the filter element can reach thousands of hours. The compressed air from the compressor head entrains oil droplets of various sizes. Large oil droplets are easily separated when passing through the oil-gas separation tank, while small oil droplets (suspended oil particles below 1um in diameter) must be filtered through the micron and glass fiber filter layer of the oil-gas separation filter. The oil particles are directly intercepted by the filter material through the diffusion effect of the filter material, and the mechanism of inertial collision condensation makes the suspended oil particles in the compressed air quickly condense into large oil droplets. Under the action of gravity, the oil collects at the bottom of the oil core and passes through the bottom. The inlet of the oil return pipe in the recess returns to the lubricating oil system of the machine head, so that the compressor discharges more pure and oil-free compressed air. The solid particles in the compressed air pass through the oil core and stay in the filter layer, which causes the pressure difference (resistance) of the oil core to increase continuously. As the use time of the oil separation core increases, when the pressure difference of the oil separation core reaches 0.08 to 0.1Mpa, the filter element must be replaced, otherwise the operating cost of the compressor (power consumption) will increase.

After the oil mixture enters the separator through the inlet pipeline, it is sprayed on the oil retaining cap (bulk oil cap). The diffused oil slides down the pipe wall to the lower part of the separator by gravity and is discharged through the exhaust pipe.At the same time, the gas rises due to low density, changes the flow direction upward through the separation umbrella concentration, and sticks the small oil droplets in the gas to the umbrella wall, and then accumulates and falls to the wall. The gas after deoiling enters the pipeline through the top of the separator for gas measurement.

The simple working principle of the oil separator: the high-pressure gas (gaseous working fluid and lubricating oil) from the compressor enters the oil separator and enters the guide vane of the oil separator. The spiral flow along the guide vane depends on centrifugal force and gravity. The lubricating oil is separated from the working gas and flows down the inner wall of the cylinder. The working gas is led out of the oil separator by a central tube through a porous baffle. The separated lubricating oil is concentrated in the lower part of the oil separator and can be periodically discharged, or the floating ball valve is used to automatically return the lubricating oil to the crankcase of the compressor.
